Venture Consulting Practice Update
The Home Safety Council has hired CWV to develop a corporate partnership strategy for the organization that will enable HSC to build robust and lucrative partnerships with a few key corporations. In addition, CWV is assessing the opportunity for HSC to build a profitable business selling the educational materials it creates.

CWV kicked off its second engagement with the Minneapolis, MN-based Search Institute, whose mission is to provide leadership, knowledge, and resources to promote healthy children, youth, and communities. In this engagement, CWV will work with Search to develop a business plan that outlines a growth strategy over the next five years to make the organization sustainable.  CWV is also working with the client to identify prospective investors.

Social Franchise Ventures Update
Execution of the WineStyles Franchise Agreement: SFV Client, Share Our Strength, signed its first franchise agreement with WineStyles, a franchisor of boutique retail wine stores, as part of its strategic alliance. The social franchise is expected to open this summer in Washington, D.C., near the Share Our Strength headquarters. SOS and WineStyles also entered into a marketing and sponsorship agreement that includes special-events, private-label products, and other mutually beneficial marketing elements.  This relationship could result in multiple franchise locations for Share Our Strength as well as significant income from other activities as the exclusive national charitable partner of WineStyles.

New Clients:
AHRC – Based in Manhattan, this new SFV client has engaged the firm to help it develop a social franchise strategy that will create jobs, generate unrestricted income, and bring new exposure to the organization.

Nevada H.A.N.D. – This community development organization hired SFV to help expand its assets in the rapidly growing Las Vegas market.  Nevada H.A.N.D. owns and operates numerous low-income housing units and is seeking new and innovative ways to grow.

Village Care NYC – SFV will work with Village Care NYC to identify retail, homecare, and other potential social franchises. The organization is a leader in comprehensive community-based care and services for older adults and persons living with HIV.

Collaborative Programs Update
Community Wealth Ventures is excited to announce the launch of the North Texas Community Wealth Initiative in partnership with the Center for Nonprofit Management in Dallas, TX.
