CWV will host two information sessions on June 1, 2006, to inform
Cleveland area nonprofits about the opportunity to participate in the
Cleveland Community Wealth Collaborative, an innovative 10-month project
designed to assist select area nonprofit organizations in developing

CWV: In the Spotlight
Joshua Tripp, Vice President, Social Franchise Ventures, spoke at the
Third Annual Conference of Social Entrepreneurs: Where Practice and
Research Align at NYU Stern School of Business on April 7, 2006.
Hilary Johnson, Director, led a panel discussion regarding leadership
and social enterprise at the 2006 Community Leadership Association
Leadership Conference in Hartford, CT, on April, 28, 2006.
Hilary Johnson will speak at the National Center for Mental Health
Promotion and Youth Violence Prevention’s Sustainability Teleconference
on May 4, where she will discuss various ways that grantees can market
products or services to develop revenue and sustain programs.
Senior Consultant Tanya Smith-Evans, will be a featured speaker at
Nonprofits and Innovation: Surviving and Thriving in an Age of Change,
the Seventh Annual Axelson Center Symposium for Nonprofit Professionals
in Chicago on May 16-17, 2006. Tanya’s presentation will provide an
overview of the field of social enterprise, highlight trends in the
marketplace, identify key risks to pursuing social enterprise, and
discuss the steps to developing a social enterprise strategy.
On August 17-18, Tanya Smith-Evans and Alfred Miller Wise will lead a workshop on social enterprise at the NeighborWorks Training
Institute in Washington, DC.
