SERVICES
FOR NONPROFITS |
|
| CWV assists nonprofits with the
development and execution of growth and sustainability
strategies that allow them to increase impact. These
services can be applied to a nonprofit business unit
such as a social enterprise, to particular program
area(s), or to the organization as a whole. |
| |
Sustainability Plans |
| CWV helps nonprofit organizations build plans to ensure greater mission impact and organizational sustainability in the long term. CWV does this by helping nonprofits analyze their external environment in conjunction with their internal assets and challenges. The process includes development of a social impact model that informs an organization’s vision, mission and goals. The end product of this process is an organizational strategy coupled with a detailed financial model that lays out a plan for sustainable growth. |
| |
| Business Plans |
| Developing a comprehensive business plan is instrumental to the implementation of successful social innovations. CWV does not look at a business plan as an end product; rather, CWV believes the process of effective planning is one that fosters informed decision-making. Business plans can be used to help develop and grow both nonprofit organizations, programs and social enterprises. |
| |
| Feasibility Assessments |
| Conducting a feasibility assessment provides an organization with a high-level assessment of the market opportunity, financial viability and fit for a potential programmatic initiative or social enterprise. CWV conducts feasibility assessments to provide organizations with sufficient information to make a “go or no-go” decision on a new opportunity. |
|
| Market and Financial Analysis |
| By providing rigorous market and financial analysis, CWV supports clients in making strategic decisions about pricing for programs and services, understanding the potential to expand and secure more customers/clients, and identifying opportunities to improve the bottom line. |
| |
| Organization Mergers, Acquisitions and Partnerships |
| Mergers, acquisitions and partnerships can be a strategic approach to growth and sustainability, and can help alleviate unnecessary operational costs and inefficiencies. CWV helps clients identify the right structure for partnership that will meet their mission and financial objectives. |
|
TOOLS AND METHODOLOGIES |
|
| CWV has created several methodologies and frameworks that enable us to uncover unique insights into our clients’ organizational performance and strategies. |
| |
| Asset Identification and Opportunity Screening |
| CWV works with organizations to identify organizational assets that can be leveraged for strategic opportunities and initiatives. The asset identification process both highlights known and uncovers hidden sources of organizational strength. CWV’s
methodology also enables leaders to assess and
prioritize opportunities based on internal goals and the
external environment. |
| |
| Impact Model for Entrepreneurial Social Programs |
| This Model enables clients to connect an identified social problem with their programs and approach. The Model states how an organization will measure the impact its programs have on one or more causes of the social problem and incorporates the organization’s vision for how things will be different if it is successful in reducing or eliminating the cause it intends to address. The Impact Model aims to help organizations “connect the dots” and assists leadership in aligning programs with organizational strategy and community needs. |
| |
| Organizational Capacity Assessment |
| Through this assessment, CWV evaluates an organization’s internal strengths, capabilities, weaknesses and constraints in order to assess organizational capacity to launch new or grow existing programs or business ventures. Multiple aspects of the organization are assessed, including governance and leadership; personnel and staff engagement; financial management; operations; community engagement; and constituent programs and services. The assessment results in an organizational report card that identifies which areas of organizational capacity are strong and which need improvement or immediate attention. |
| |
| Social Enterprise Performance Diagnostic |
| CWV’s diagnostic tool helps
social enterprises to understand and overcome their
constraints to superior business performance through an
evaluation tool, gap analysis report and customized
action plan. |
